On March 25, 2008 the City of Sunbury and the Greater Susquehanna Vally Chamber of Commerce collaborated to present a Summit meeting entitled "Sunbury, a City Moving Forward".

The summit was hosted at the Shikellamy High School auditorium, from 7:00 pm -9:00 pm and was moderated by WKOK Radio's Mark Lawrence and broadcast live.
Panel members and the community discussed the perception of Sunbury and the reality of the city, as well as what is being done to move forward. |

250 members fo the community were present and submitted questions to the panel. Selected questions were read aloud and presented to the panel for discussion.
"Sunbury's future," said Sawicki, a Northumberland County commissioner and Mount Carmel resident, "is bright because its residents care."
The summit panel included:
- Jesse C. Woodring, Mayor of Sunbury
- John K. Shipman, Vice-Mayor and Chairman of Sunbury Pride and Renaissance Coalition (SPARC), a committee of SRI.
- Stephen Mazzeo, Sunbury Chief of Police
- Cory Fasold, President Sunbury Revitalization Incorporated (SRI)
- Tim Fister, Shikellamy School District School Board President
- Frank Sawicki, Northumberland County Commissioner
